This Jesus Thing [Was] A Smash Hit

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything of substance, and I’m afraid it’s going to be a long time before I post anything again. While I hate to say something is dead and never coming back, I think it’s safe to say that the Christian retail blog is on a permanent hiatus.

I can only make fun of the Christian subculture for so long before it just becomes boring. And let’s be honest, nobody wants to read my navel-gazing about faith and theology. So I suppose this is goodbye. I’ll still contribute to my “life blog” with my wife so friends and family can keep up with our life, but this space will be silent for the foreseeable future.

It’s been fun. And Chris Rice fans, no hard feelings.

I agree I discovered your blog too late. I hope you reconsider your decision. The world needs your opinion and I for one enjoy it.

Here is one vote for you staying.

I agree with the previous 2 commenters: judging from past posts, your "navel-gazing" would make for some interesting reading. Even if you don't put it here anymore, I hope you'll keep a record of those thoughts somewhere!

Sad.

Nice All Star United reference though.

Sorry to hear it, but I totally understand. Just working at a Christian bookstore can be draining enough; presumably, after leaving, I wouldn't imagine one wants to dwell on the cheese and the crass commericalism that daily gets churned out with Jesus's name stamped on it any longer than is possible.

Drop me a line and let me know how you're doing!

I've folloed you for aover a year, and have enjoyed all of it. So sorry to see you go. Your blog has been a source of great relief, humor and insight.

As your life goes on, I wish you and Nikki well.

Sad thing is the RSS feed I read only just caught me up now, I am back at LEAST 20 posts and still going -- all the time you were posting, I had no idea because the feed was broken.

Too bad, I'll miss this.

I know you probably won't see this but I'm really sorry you seem disillusioned by "chrisianity". True christianity is being 'Christ like'. Those that aren't don't represent christianity they represent religion and 'spirituality'. It is up to the true followers of Christ to define for the world who He is, not some political organization or disillusioned person who was hurt in some way by an imperfect person (which unfortunately we all are). Jesus Christ is real and never let's us down...only people do! PS James Dobson is an awesome man of God and has poured his life out to serve families in the name of Christ.
